Scanned bank statement to Excel
We check your balances add up before you download, so your spreadsheet matches your bank. Add a scan of your bank statement. MyBankToExcel reads it. Then you get a file for Excel, Google Sheets, or QuickBooks.
- Scan your paper statement, or save the scan your bank gave you, as a PDF.
- Open MyBankToExcel and add that PDF. We read the scan right in your browser. Each page takes a few seconds.
- Look at the balance check first. Then check the free rows, and press Download.
The balance check comes first
We add up the rows and check them against the last balance on your statement. If they don't match, a number may have been read wrong. We warn you above the Download button, before you pay.
Scans can have mistakes
Reading a scan is not perfect. If part of the page was hard to read, we say so and ask you to check the rows.
Get a clear scan
Scan flat, in good light, at 300 DPI if you can. One PDF per month works best.
Questions
Can MyBankToExcel read a scanned bank statement?
Yes. We read the scan with OCR in your browser, then run the same balance check. If a scan is hard to read, we tell you plainly.
How does the balance check work?
If your statement shows a balance on each line, we take the start balance, add the money in, and take away the money out. That should equal the last balance on your statement. If it doesn't, we warn you above the Download button. If your statement has no balance on each line, we can't check it, and we tell you so. The check covers the whole statement, not each page.
What does it cost?
The first 5 rows and the balance check are free. Then $9 for 10 statements, or Bookkeeper at $19 a month.
Is my scan kept?
No. Your file never leaves your device. We read it right in your browser and send only the words, to put them in rows.
